About the Marlins Clopper’s Mill Kingsview Swim Team

Clopper’s Mill Kingsview Marlin swim team is sponsored by the associations of Clopper's Mill, Clopper's Mill West and Kingsview Village. Clopper’s Mill Kingsview Marlins swim team promotes and organizes a neighborhood summer swim team in which good sportsmanship, teamwork, fairness, safety and fun will be prioritized!

Kingsview Village, Clopper’s Mill Community Association, and Cloppers Mill West together sponsor the Cloppers Mill-Kingsview Marlins swim team, which competes in the Montgomery County Swim League (MCSL). Only members of these pools are eligible to join the team. The goals of MCSL include helping kids establish a love for the sport of swimming, advanced aquatic skills, teamwork, and the principles of good sportsmanship. The MCSL sponsors competitive swimming activities for 90 teams representing various neighborhoods and locales in Montgomery County. Teams are divided into 15 divisions based on the teams’ win-loss record, ranging from A-O. The Marlins will compete in Division H this summer. For more information about the Marlins, visit the team online at www.cmkmarlins.com.

The Marlins practice at both the Cloppers Mill West and East pools and hold meets at the West pool. “A” meets are held on Saturdays for the swimmers with the fastest times in each event, and “B” meets, which encourage all swimmers to compete and have fun, are held on Wednesday nights. In the past six years, the Marlins have won their division three times and never placed lower than 4th place.

Marlins swimmers owe their success in large part to the support of the neighborhoods in which they live. In addition to the HOAs of our swimmers’ neighborhoods, our swimmers enjoy the support of many local businesses: Anytime Fitness, Georgetown Hill Early School, Karta-Waksberg Real Estate, Family Dental Associates, Village Orthodontics, and Paisano’s.
Thank you for your continued support, and Go Marlins!

Bulk Trash Reminder

posted Mar 16, 2016, 2:04 PM by Cloppers Mill Community Association   [ updated Apr 12, 2018, 5:11 AM ]

Only garbage in trash bags will be collected on our scheduled trash collection days. Do not leave bulk items for trash pick up. Removal of bulk items costs the Association because the Association is billed per bulk item pick up. Please report anyone dumping bulk items to the Community Management (description and address of person, date, time, and location of event). Your report will remain confidential.

Montgomery County residents should dispose of bulk trash (usually at no charge) at the Solid Waste Transfer Station (16101 Frederick Road, Derwood, MD 20855). The Transfer Station is open Monday through Saturday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and loads of trash under 500 pounds can be disposed of at no charge.

Snow Policy Reminder

posted Jan 21, 2016, 12:00 PM by Cloppers Mill Community Association   [ updated Dec 28, 2016, 7:01 AM ]

Please (view the full snow policy) and take note of the tips listed below.

Please lend a hand to your neighbors and be safe during the storm:
  1. Keep the main entrance and driving lanes of the community open for ingress/egress (entrance/exit).
  2. When the snow stops and after a number of vehicles have departed, our snow contractor will return to clear the main driving areas. The snow contractor is not contracted to and will not plow parking spaces due to the snow (particularly wet snow) possibly causing damage.
  3. Follow-up visit(s) may be warranted for more plowing or apply materials to the streets and roads.
  4. Once the snow has stopped, association-owned sidewalks will be cleared.
  5. If a vehicle is abandoned in a street or driving lane, the snow plow contractors will plow around it as best they can.
  6. Reminder: it is impossible to plow snow and not leave a mound behind parked vehicles, especially in town home sections.
